FORT BEND MARSHALL (14-1) VS. ALEDO (14-1) 11 a.m. Saturday, AT&T Stadium, Arlington

Marshall and Aledo reunite in the first of two Saturday rematches between Dallas and Houston area squads. Aledo won this one last December, and it really wasn’t close, with the Bearcats rolling to their state recordtying eighth schampionship in a 55-19 rout. They led 28-12 at halftime and pulled away with 20 unanswered points in the third, while pilling up 489 total yards — 200 more than Marshall. Unfortunately for the Buffalos, Aledo RB Jase McClellan, who ran for 149 yards and three TDs in that game, is back and again running strong after missing seven games with a broken wrist. The Buffalos never had made a state final before last year’s run. Now they’re making back-to-back appearances, beating Manvel, which handed them their only loss this season, 40-10 in the regional finals, and clobbering Boerne Champion 55-21 in the state semis, where they narrowly hung on to edge Corpus Christi Calallen 19-17 last year.

PLAYERS TO WATCH Devon Achane, Marshall: The 5-9, 170-pound senior running back signed with Texas A&M on Wednesday. Achane has 2,091 yards rushing and 38 TDs on 185 carries.

Bryan Allen Jr., Aledo: The 5-11, 180pound sophomore safety already has offers from Houston, Baylor and Illinois State. Allen leads the Bearcats with 116 tackles and three interceptions.

Malik Hornsby, Marshall: The 6-1, 175-pound star quarterback remains uncommitted. He announced Dec. 16 via Twitter that he isn’t signing during early period. Hornsby has at least two dozen offers, with Baylor, Purdue and Oregon considered the front-runners. He has completed 106 of 185 passes for 2,163 yards and 28 TDs with two INTs. He also has 1,427 yards rushing and 15 TDs on 118 carries.

Jase McClellan, Aledo: The 5-10, 202-pound running back was a longtime Oklahoma commit but was rumored this week to be leaning toward flipping to Alabama. First, he’ll try to lead Aledo to a state-record ninth state title. .
