PPE operation staffs up in Tomball
Wildcat PPE has hired nearly 100 assembly technicians at a job fair coordinated by the Tomball Economic Development Corp. and plans to hire 200 more as it ramps up operations to help safeguard against COVID-19. The employees have already started production of isolation gowns as personal protective equipment.
Wildcat PPE, a spinoff of Wildcat Cable, started producing PPE in response to COVID-19. The company has received orders for nearly 10 million isolation gowns to be fulfilled over the next six months.
Wildcat plans to lease approximately 100,000 square feet in Tomball Industrial Crossing Office Park on Medical Complex Drive. The company, which is currently located in Decker Prairie, hopes to move into the new facility in May.
Heavy equipment auction completed with online bids
An auction conducted in Houston sold more than 4,400 equipment items and trucks for an aggregate of more than $43 million. The late April auction, conducted with online bidding only, saw U.S. buyers purchase approximately 93 percent of the equipment, with most coming from Texas, California and Florida.
More than 460 consignors sold equipment in the auction, including a complete retirement dispersal for Zoch Construction Inc., based in Centerville.
Ritchie Bros. is a global asset management and disposition company focused on buying and selling used heavy equipment, trucks and other assets.
Luby’s receives delisting notice from NYSE
Luby’s Inc. said it received notice from the New York Stock Exchange that it is no longer in compliance with continued listing standards, which require the average closing price of the company’s common stock to be at least $1 per share over a period of 30 consecutive trading days.
The company said it would notify the exchange of its intent to cure the deficiency and return to compliance within the six-month cure period.
Luby’s Inc. operated 119 restaurants nationally as of Dec. 18, 2019: 78 Luby’s Cafeterias, 40 Fuddruckers, and one Cheeseburger in Paradise restaurants.
BoA offers support to nonprofits in the Houston area
Bank of America has partnered with 23 Houston-area nonprofits to support local relief efforts related to the coronavirus pandemic, investing $1.4 million locally to help its partners provide basic and essential services such as rental assistance, medical services, homelessness prevention and hunger relief.
