RENT PROTECTION Renters’ protection:
People living in rental housing financed by government-backed loans are protected from eviction during the pandemic. HELP RESTAURANT WORKERS
William Chris Vineyards: This Texas Hill Country winery has launched a Wanderer Series Relief Project to benefit the Southern Smoke Foundation. Purchase a bottle of its new red wine blend for $20 and all proceeds go to Southern Smoke, a nonprofit spearheaded by Houston chef Chris Shepherd, to help restaurant workers in need. Messina Hof: This Texas-based winery created its Bottle of Thanks program to allow customers to purchase wine and send it to medical workers. Purchase any of their 50-plus wines at messinahof.com, and they can be sent to a specific person or to a local hospital the winery partners with. Messina Hof covers the cost of shipping.

Bey Health: Tina Knowles Lawson has launched the #IDIDMYPART campaign in partnership with daughter Beyoncé’s BeyGOOD nonprofit to urge racial and ethnic minorities to get tested for COVID-19 to help curb the spread of the disease. The United Memorial Medical Center will administer 500 coronavirus tests 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at Cullen Middle School, 6900 Scott, and another 500 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Forest Brook Middle School, 7525 Tidwell. Participants will not need to leave their vehicles. In addition to the testing, the #IDIDMYPART campaign will distribute face masks, gloves, vitamins and household supplies and
BeyGOOD will distribute free H-E-B gift cards and vouchers for a hot meal from Frenchy’s Chicken and Burns Original BBQ.
