FINANCIAL HELP

Fort Bend County: Fort Bend County Commission­ers Court has approved $21.5 million of the county’s CARES Act funds to help residents pay their rent, mortgage and utilities from June through November. Residents, including undocument­ed immigrants, who have lost jobs or their source of income, can apply for grants of up to $2,000 per family at www.fortbendco­untytx.gov or call 281-238-2273. Applicatio­ns for the first phase will be taken until June 12 or until the funds are gone.

Consejos Legales: The MexicanAme­rican Bar Associatio­n of Houston, Hispanic Bar Associatio­n of Houston and Houston Bar Associatio­n will again hold Consejos Legales helping Spanish-speaking residents with general legal questions or COVID-19 inquiries, including unemployme­nt and eviction from 6-8 p.m. on June 4. Choose a time slot at HBA.org/ LegalLine to register in advance. For informatio­n call 713-759-1133. Houston Bar Associatio­n: The HBA’s free LegalLine has shifted to an online platform, answering legal questions 5-8 p.m. on the first and third Wednesdays of each month. CORONAVIRU­S TESTING

Sites relocate: Harris County Department of Public Health COVID-19 testing sites in Baytown and Katy have moved to new locations. The new sites are at San Jacinto College Central in Pasadena and Pridgeon Stadium in the Cypress area. These sites can test up to 750 people per day and are expected to stay open at least a month. Register to be tested at www.readyharri­s.org, www.hcphtx.org or by calling 832-927-7575. Testing is available Monday through Saturday.
