FOOD ASSISTANCE
YMCA of Greater Houston: The YMCA has partnered with the Houston and Montgomery County food banks and others to provide food to families in need. Its schedule for June is:
• T.W. Davis Family YMCA: 9 a.m. until supplies are gone on Mondays; 911 Thompson Road, Richmond
• Church Without Walls: 11 a.m. until supplies are gone on Fridays; 5725 Queenston, Houston
• Aldine-Greenspoint Family YMCA (hosted by North Houston Skate Park): 9 a.m. until supplies are gone on Tuesdays; 12351 Kuykendahl, Houston
• MD Anderson Family YMCA: 9 a.m. until supplies are gone on Mondays; 705 Cavalcade, Houston
• Tellepsen Family YMCA Food Pantry: Monday-Friday by appointment only. Call 713-659-8501; 808 Pease, Houston
• YMCA International Services: noon-2 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays; 6300 Westpark, Suite 600
• Connect YMCA: 9 a.m. until supplies are gone on Mondays; 6700 Bellaire, Houston • Greater Grace Church: 11 a.m. until supplies are gone on Thursdays; 10800 Scott, Houston
• Houston Texans YMCA: 9 a.m. until supplies are gone on Tuesdays; 5202 Griggs Road, Houston
• East End YMCA (hosted by AAMA): 9 a.m. until supplies are gone on Tuesdays; 6001 Gulf Freeway, Houston
• Wendel D. Ley Family YMCA: 9 a.m. until supplies are gone on Wednesdays; 15055 Wallisville Road, Houston. (Enter through North Shore Senior High School.)
• Pasadena Convention Center: 1 p.m. until supplies are gone on Saturdays. 7902 Fairmont Parkway, Pasadena
• The Woodlands Family YMCA at Shadowbend: 10 a.m.-noon on June 27; 6145 Shadowbend Place, The Woodlands
• Edgar A. Smith Family YMCA: 9 a.m. until supplies are gone on Mondays; 14650 Texas 3, Webster
Houston Food Bank: The food bank is distributing 750,000 pounds of food daily. It has pantries and partner sites all over the city. For information go to houstonfoodbank.org or call 832-369-9390.
Houston Food Bank Neighborhood Super Sites:
• Huntsville: 1-5 p.m. on Mondays at Sam Houston State University, 620 Bowers, Huntsville. The goal is to give 60-80 pounds of food to 1,500 vehicles per week. The event is in partnership with Covenant with Christ International.
• Cypress: 2-8 p.m. Wednesdays at the IAH Ecopark, 16152 John F. Kennedy Blvd. This site is in partnership with CYHope and moves to this new location todayMay 13. Its goal is 7,500 vehicles per week.
• Klein Collins High School: 4-8 p.m. on Fridays at the High School, 20811 Ella, Spring. They hope to give up to 80 pounds of food to 3,500 households per week. Klein ISD police and the National Guard are helping with the distribution.
• Medical Center South: noon-7 p.m. Saturdays in the NRG Stadium Yellow Lot. This site is done in partnership with Houston ISD and has a goal of 8,000 vehicles per week.
Montgomery County Food
Bank: Visit mcfoodbank.org for a list of 50 food providers in Montgomery County, or call 936-271-8800. Its mobile markets
in June are:
• June 16: noon, the East Texas Dream Center Mobile Pantry at Nelson Pools, 26373 E. Holly Lane, Splendora
• June 17: 10 a.m.-1 p.m., the Communities in Schools, Caney Creek High School, 13470 FM 1485, Conroe
• June 18: 6 p.m. at The Abundant Harvest Kitchen (with Texas Families Council), 19121 Kings Row, New Caney
• June 19: 8 a.m., the Community Assistance Center at Bull Sallas Park, 21675 McCleskey Road, New Caney
• June 20: 10 a.m. at Conroe Bible Church, 4491 Interstate 45 North, Conroe; and 8 a.m. at Caney Creek Cowboy Church, 17703 Nonesuch Road, Conroe
• June 24: 3 p.m. Dacus Baptist Church Mobile Pantry, 5403 North FM 1486, Montgomery
• June 25: 6 p.m. at The Abundant Harvest Kitchen (with Texas Families Council), 19121 Kings Row, New Caney
• June 27: noon, the BridgeChurch Woodlands at Landmark Apartments, 425 Rayford, Spring
• June 29: 9 a.m. the Community Assistance Center at Bull Sallas Park, 21675 McCleskey Road, New Caney
