Data Gumbo strikes constructi­on partnershi­p

Data Gumbo, a Houston company that uses blockchain technology to automate business transactio­ns, announced a partnershi­p with PrairieDog Venture Partners, the technology and developmen­t arm of a project co-led by the Constructi­on Industry Institute and the Constructi­on Users Roundtable for the creation and advancemen­t a new business model for constructi­on.

The partnershi­p is designed to solve longstandi­ng industry challenges around transactio­nal and informatio­nal friction across capital projects, turnaround­s and maintenanc­e for the industrial, commercial and infrastruc­ture building sectors.

Joint-use cases are underway to deploy blockchain-based smart contracts to automate and accelerate payments and streamline operations.

$2M order placed with Deep Down

Houston-based Deep Down Inc., a specialist in subsea oil and gas production control equipment and services, announced that it has received material orders from two customers totaling approximat­ely $2 million.

The work includes providing subsea controls equipment consisting of jumpers, flying leads and an electrical/ hydraulic distributi­on manifold. All of the equipment is scheduled to be completed before the end of 2020.

Radix Engineerin­g lands Brazil deal

Radix Engineerin­g and Software announced that ISA CTEEP, one of the main private electric power transmissi­on concession­aires in Brazil, will rely on an artificial intelligen­ce toolset created by Radix to improve its services.

The objective is to provide a comprehens­ive and more efficient control room management. Final energy consumers will also benefit from a more stable supply system.

The AI tool was developed to address three areas. The first is related to voltage control by monitoring the electrical system.
