Three Baylor athletes test positive for COVID-19
Baylor’s athletic department announced Tuesday three of its student-athletes tested positive for COVID-19.
The three positive tests were among 59 studentathletes tested, with all residing off campus. Of the positive cases, one is symptomatic and two are asymptomatic.
The school said the student-athletes are selfisolating. Other studentathletes who have been identified as having direct exposure to those who tested positive have been instructed to self-quarantine per the recommendations of public health officials and the athletic department’s plan.
Last week, six University of Houston studentathletes tested positive for the novel coranvirus, leading to a shutdown of voluntary workouts. Meanwhile, Texas reported two of 58 returning football players tested positive for COVID.

• The University of Virginia is changing the logos it uses for its sports teams just two months after they were unveiled after criticism that a design element referred to the school’s history with slavery.
Fans raised objections to the serpentine curves put on the handles of the sabres below the “V” for Virginia and on the Cavalier shield. They were meant to mimic “the design of the serpentine walls” that long stood on the campus.
Historians pointed out that former President Thomas Jefferson designed the original 8-foothigh walls to muffle the sounds of slaves and hide them from public view.
