Padres (15-12) update: The Padres enter Friday with a grand slam four consecutiv­e games, the first team in major league history to accomplish the feat. Fernando Tatis Jr. (Monday), Wil Myers (Tuesday), Manny Machado (Wednesday) and Eric Hosmer (Thursday) did the honors during a four-game series against the Rangers. Only four teams had ever hit slams in three straight games, none in the National League since the 1895 Cleveland Spiders. … Tatis has blossomed into a superstar in his second MLB season. The 21-year-old shortstop entered Thursday’s play with a .311/.387/.717 slash line and led the majors in homers (12), RBIs (29), runs (25) and stolen bases (six, tied with five others). … Myers entered Thursday with a .945 OPS and 17 RBIs in 24 games.
