Padres (15-12) update: The Padres enter Friday with a grand slam four consecutive games, the first team in major league history to accomplish the feat. Fernando Tatis Jr. (Monday), Wil Myers (Tuesday), Manny Machado (Wednesday) and Eric Hosmer (Thursday) did the honors during a four-game series against the Rangers. Only four teams had ever hit slams in three straight games, none in the National League since the 1895 Cleveland Spiders. … Tatis has blossomed into a superstar in his second MLB season. The 21-year-old shortstop entered Thursday’s play with a .311/.387/.717 slash line and led the majors in homers (12), RBIs (29), runs (25) and stolen bases (six, tied with five others). … Myers entered Thursday with a .945 OPS and 17 RBIs in 24 games.
