Rams, Woods agree on $68M extension

LOS ANGELES — The Rams on Friday agreed to terms with receiver Robert Woods on a four-year contract extension, the team announced.

Terms were not disclosed but the deal could be worth as much as $68 million, with $32 million guaranteed, a person with knowledge of the situation said.

Woods is the third Rams player to receive an extension in the last two weeks.

Cornerback Jalen Ramsey signed a five-year, $105 million deal, and receiver Cooper Kupp signed a three-year deal that could be worth as much as $48 million.

In other NFL news:

• The Falcons will be without a key member of their cornerback rotation after ruling Kendall Sheffield out of Sunday’s game against the Cowboys. Sheffield is still recovering from a foot injury and wasn’t able to practice all week.

• San Francisco’s AllPro tight end George Kittle has been ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Jets due to an injured knee

• Wide receiver Jamison Crowder has been ruled out for the New York Jets’ game against the San Francisco 49ers because of a hamstring injury.

Crowder’s absence is a big blow to Sam Darnold and the offense, which struggled despite the receiver having seven catches for 115 yards and a touchdown in the seasonopen­ing loss at Buffalo.

• Detroit Lions wide receiver Kenny Golladay and Green Bay Packers defensive tackle Kenny Clark won’t be available Sunday for the NFC North matchup at Lambeau Field due to injuries.

• Larry Wilson ,a former Cardinals safety and member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, has died. He was 82.

Wilson died Thursday evening, according to the team. He spent more than 43 years in the Cardinals’ organizati­on as a player and an executive.

A seventh-round draft pick out of Utah in 1960, Wilson played 13 seasons with the Cardinals. He was an eight-time Pro Bowl selection and was a firstteam All Pro five times.
