Goya expanding Brookshire facility
Goya Foods has announced an $80 million expansion of its manufacturing and distribution facility in Brookshire. The expansion includes the purchase of new, state-ofthe-art food processing equipment that will enable the company to double production capacity in order to meet the increased consumer demand for its products.
The facility, which sits on a 130-acre farm, has served as the prime hub for the manufacturing and distribution of Goya products in the West and provides key access to a skilled workforce, a favorable business climate, railroad transportation and a launching pad for global export.
Kirksey acquires House+Partners
Kirksey Architecture has bolstered its multifamily and office practices with the acquisition of House+Partners Architecture & Planning. Both firms are based in Houston. The deal, which expands Kirksey’s portfolio in the senior living sector, closed on Oct. 1. Terms were not disclosed.
The transaction includes ongoing work with five residential developments by Hines. The projects under construction total 1.5 million square feet. Other notable projects include The Village at The Woodlands Waterway, an eight-story seniors project, and the 267,000-square-foot Westchase Park Office Building.
Kirksey, which also has offices in Austin, has designed more than 37 million square feet of LEED-certified space since 1971. House+Partners was established by Glenn House Jr. in 1978.
Regions Bank adds 7 local branches
Regions Bank will be adding seven branches in the Houston area.
New branches are open at Brazos Town Center in Rosenberg and Fairfield Place in Cypress, and Regions is building two branches in Houston and others in Tomball, Conroe and Missouri City. All are slated to open by the end of the year, and further growth is planned in 2021, according to the bank.
The openings were announced along with the appointment of John Stacy as the bank’s Houston-area market executive.
Regions, a subsidiary of Birmingham, Ala.based Regions Financial Corp., has nearly doubled its presence in the Houston area over the past five years to 48 branches..
Friedkin launches accessories division
The Friedkin Group has launched Accelerated Solutions Group, a manufacturer of automotive accessories.
ASG manufactures specialized accessories for Gulf States Toyota, a Friedkin dealership.
Gulf States Toyota distributes Toyota vehicles and parts to more than 150 dealerships across Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Mississippi and Arkansas
