2 UH games get new dates as AAC reshuffles schedule
Two University of Houston football games postponed because of COVID-19 have been rescheduled. UH will play at SMU on Dec. 5 and at Memphis on Dec. 12.
The American Athletic Conference also announced Friday that seventh-ranked Cincinnati’s game against No. 25 Tulsa now will be played Dec. 12. The game originally was scheduled for Oct. 17, then moved to Dec. 4.
Also, Memphis now will be at Navy on Nov. 28 and at Tulane on Dec. 5, and Navy will host Tulsa on Dec. 5.
In other college football news:
• Tennessee athletic director and former Volunteers football coach Phillip Fulmer said he’s in isolation after testing positive for COVID-19. And Miami’s Manny Diaz became the latest active coach to announce he has contracted the virus.
Fulmer, 70, tweeted that he’s “feeling fine“and was deemed not to have been in close contact with any Tennessee athletes or team staffers. Tennessee plays at No. 23 Auburn on Saturday.
Diaz also posted that he tested positive for COVID-19 and is isolating. Diaz, 46, said he’ll work virtually with the No. 12 Hurricanes until he can return to the field. Miami isn’t scheduled to play again until Dec. 5 at Wake Forest after postponing its next two games because of coronavirus issues.
• Stanford’s home football game against Washington State tonight has been
canceled because of a coronavirus issue within the Cougars’ program, the Pac-12 announced.
Washington State quarterback Jayden de Laura reportedly tested positive for coronavirus, and the Cougars were expected to start a new quarterback against Stanford.
