Boys
Chris Felix, Westbury Christian
Notable: Felix scored 49 points in Westbury Christian’s 97-93 overtime victory over Lubbock Trinity Christian in the TAPPS 4A state championship game. He also had 19 points, eight rebounds and five assists in the state semifinals against St. Thomas Episcopal. Felix is an Air Force signee who averaged 24 points and eight rebounds in 2020-21.

Austin Benigni, The Woodlands Christian: Benigni had 29 points to lead all scorers as The Woodlands Christian defeated Fort Worth Christian 60-47 in the TAPPS 5A state championship game. Vinny Saumell, Klein Cain: Saumell was 3-for-4 with three RBIs, two runs scored and two home runs in a 12-7 win over Cypress Falls. The senior captain has seven RBIs on seven hits in four games. Sam Whitmarsh, Brazoswood: He topped his own nation-best 800meter time at the Generation Park Relays, clocking 1 minute, 50.48 seconds. He also won silver in the meet’s 400-meter dash at 48.90.
Girls
Audrey Cooper, Pearland
Notable: The freshman defender had two goals and an assist in a 5-1 victory over, clinching the Lady Oilers’ first district title in four years. Cooper has started every game this year for Pearland, which is 10-0-2 in district play.

Grand Oaks: Dunbar hit one home run and totaled eight RBIs in wins over Cameron Yoe and Navasota on the final day of the Brenham tournament on Saturday. The Grizzlies scored 29 runs in just eight innings in a 14-11 victory over Yoe and a 15-0 victory over Navasota. Bree Dent, Angleton: Dent was 2-for-4 with four RBIs and two doubles while striking out five and allowing no earned runs on two hits in four innings of a 17-2 victory over Lamar Consolidated Destiny Smith, Dickinson: Smith won the 300meter hurdles with a statebest 43.70 at the Ruben C. Jordan Classic. She also took first in the 100-meter hurdles at 14.77.
