Underbelly Hospitalit­y to debut new restaurant at Regent Square

Underbelly Hospitalit­y ,a restaurant group led by James Beard-award winning chef Chris Shepherd, leased a 5,000-squarefoot stand-alone space with rooftop terrace in phase two at Regent Square, a developmen­t of GID Developmen­t Group at West Dallas and Dunlavy near Buffalo Bayou Park in the Montrose area.

The restaurant will focus on live-fire cooking using multiple types of wood. Set to debut in late 2021, phase two will incorporat­e 50,000 square feet of pedestrian-oriented retail and a 600unit apartment building. Underbelly operates Georgia James, UB Preserv, One Fifth, Hay Merchant and Blacksmith, and plans to open Georgia James Tavern in downtown’s Market Square Tower and Wild Oats in the Houston Farmers Market in 2021. Bostonbase­d architectu­ral firm CBT designed phase two in conjunctio­n with Houston’s OJB Landscape Architectu­re.

Hoots Wings, a fast-casual wing restaurant that is part of HOA Brands along with Hooters, is seeking franchise partners to grow the brand in Texas markets, including 40 locations in the Houston region. The company signed a 60-plus unit franchise agreement with Dallas-based AE Restaurant Group to develop locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth and Austin metro areas.

Hoots Wings has seven locations in Illinois, Georgia and Florida and aims to open up to 17 more in 2021.

Jeremiah’s Italian Ice ,an Orlando-based chain with Texas locations in Temple and McKinney, announced a location at 4030 FM 1463 in Katy as it expands to Houston. The shop has indoor and outdoor seating, a drive-thru and offers third-party delivery services.

Kelsey-Seybold Clinic leased 7,500 square feet in Shops at Stone Park, at 5820 E. Sam Houston Parkway N. near Wallisvill­e Road in northeast Houston, from NewQuest Properties. Ashley Strickland, Nick Ramsey and Kevin Sims of NewQuest Properties represente­d the landlord. The space was previously occupied by Dress Barn.

Dogtopia, a national dog day care, boarding and spa franchise with five locations in the Houston market, is expanding in Texas.

Houston franchisee Amber Woods, who is also a Soccer Shots franchisee, signed a deal to open four Dogtopia locations. Local franchisee Cody Lovins, who also owns 20 Sport Clips and three Jersey Mike’s Subs, signed a deal for three Dogtopia locations. The seven locations are among 15 planned in Texas, with others in San Antonio and Corpus Christi. The Houston locations are expected to open over the next couple of years, with two or three planned in 2021. The expansion comes as pet adoptions rose by 15 percent in 2020 and new dog owners transition­ing back to work or school use Dogtopia to help their pets socialize, according to Dogtopia.

Hella Bubble, a tea shop with smoothies, board games and free WiFi, leased 422 square feet at Heights Plaza Shopping Center, a Kroger-anchored center at Yale and 20th Street. Michael Moulton represente­d the landlord, Weingarten Realty.

leased 2,100 square feet in Shops at Rock Creek, at Spring Cypress and Grant Road in Cypress, from NewQuest Properties. Andrew Alvis of NewQuest Properties represente­d the landlord. Alex Frias of Phelps Commercial Realty represente­d the tenant.

Fulshear Nutrition & Fitness Corp.

has leased 2,066 square feet at The Village at Fulshear Shopping Center, at 8525 FM 359, Fulshear. Dani Allison of Resolut RE represente­d the tenant. Julie Maruyama of Mosswood Properties represente­d the landlord.

Acapella Dance Fitness

leased 2,250 square feet at 8404 Highway 6 S. Wil Logan represente­d the landlord, Hartman Income REIT.
