Michael Ray Preston, 70, of Cypress, Texas, unexpected­ly returned to his heavenly home on Saturday April 10. He was a loving son, husband, father, brother, and dear friend to many.

Mike is survived by his wife of 47 years, Debbie Preston, his son Ryan Preston and fiancé Rachelle Hulsey and daughter Taylor Hulsey, daughter Amy Nagy and husband Andrew Nagy and grandson on the way, Luke, his mother Leota Preston, his sisters Sheri (Marvin) Petzolt, Karen (Kent) Lowrey, Brother-In-Law Paul (Mecah) Dow, and many loving nieces and nephews. Michael was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Ray Preston.

Michael was born on February 1, 1951 in Big Spring, Texas to Alvin and Leota Preston. He attended Reagan High School in Austin, Texas and graduated college from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelors of Science in 1974. He then went on to marry his college sweetheart, Debbie. Shortly after graduating he began his career as an IT Systems Engineer in Houston, Texas where he continued working until he retired.

Mike had a passion for photograph­y, was an avid fisherman, barbecue connoisseu­r, loved being outdoors, and spending time with his family and friends. Michael’s biggest joy was being a father. He was always so proud of his children’s accomplish­ments and taught them to enjoy every moment life has to offer.

A celebratio­n of life will take place in the future with a date and time to be determined. The family would like to thank the physicians at Jennie Sealy Hospital for their heartfelt compassion and dedication.
