Astros (7-10) update: After a 6-1 start, the Astros have lost nine of 10 and reside in the AL West cellar. … Yuli Gurriel, whose .450 on-base percentage ranks fourth in the American League, has drawn 13 walks in 17 games this season. Last year, he had 12 walks in 57 games. … Kyle Tucker is 2-for-25 (.080) in his last seven games. … Ryne Stanek has allowed two hits in 9 2⁄3 innings. Both hits were home runs, accounting for his 2.89 ERA.

Angels (9-7) update: Los Angeles, which has lost four of six, split a two-game April 5-6 home series with the Astros. … The Angels are 8-4 against righthande­d starters, which is all they’ll see this weekend. … Shohei Ohtani, who has pitched to a 1.04 ERA in two starts covering 8 2⁄3 innings, won’t pitch during this series, but his bat is always a threat. He’s slashing .310/.355/.690 with five home runs and 13 RBIs. … Mike Trout is off to an MVP-caliber start, hitting and slugging an AL-best .393 and .804.
