Tres Amigos Cafe y Cantina
THE CONCEPT
Restaurateur Ken Bridge, CEO of Delicious Concepts (Ready Room, Robot Noodle, Millie’s Kitchen & Cocktails), has created a bar/restaurant serving classic Tex-Mex dishes in a room decorated with ZZ Top memorabilia. Friends Stewart Skloss, founder of Pura Vida Tequila, and ZZ Top frontman Billy Gibbons helped collaborate on the project, although they are not owners.
THE SPACE
The former Shepherd Park Draught House, a shotgun room, is now tricked out with red booths and walls crammed with Bridge’s ZZ Top collection. A long, narrow bar is set with tall votive candles. Outdoor seating in front and along the side of the restaurant.
THE FOOD
The early menu is limited to a few combination plates (tacos, tamales, enchiladas, rice and beans); tacos al carbon (steak or chicken); a la carte tamales and tacos; queso, chips and salsa; and a taqueria cheeseburger. The menu will expand as the restaurant amps up.
THE DRINKS
A few wines by the glass; plenty of beer; and Pura Vida-fueled margaritas for a topshelf experience. A full bar services all spirits needs.
ORDERING
Tres Amigos is an app-driven, cashless affair using Bridge’s proprietary Roovy mobile app. Diners must download the app and place all orders through it. Millie’s, Robot Noodle and Bridge’s upcoming Mapojeon Galbijib Korean barbecue restaurant in the former Ritual steakhouse location are tied to the app.
ONE MORE THING
Bridge said 75 percent of profits at Tres Amigos will be donated to St. Jude Foundation.
