Marcella Williams passed away peacefully Wednesday night, September 8, 2021, in Conroe, Texas. Her daughter and son held her hands as she left this world to meet her Lord.

Marcella was born on April 24, 1932 in Houston, Texas, where she resided for the majority of her 89 years. Known by many as Chela, she attended Marshall Junior High and Jeff Davis Senior High School in Houston, Texas. Her work history included Premier Printing, alongside brothers Gregory and Patrick Castro, a Chevrolet dealership on McKinney Street, and for the well-known, NBA Hall of Famer, Slater Martin.

On April 29, 1984, Marcella wed Cartha Bill Williams. They enjoyed many years together. They loved taking road trips in their fifth wheel, and to their property called “the farm” in Anderson County.

Marcella had many interests included painting and dancing. She was often described as a wonderful dancer, whether it was Ballroom, Latin, Popular, or Country and Western. She was an avid garage sale enthusiast, never passing one by without stopping to look for a grand find. She lovingly volunteere­d at Houston Northwest Hospital, and was on the Care Team at Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, where she attended services. Marcella loved her family and friends. She graciously opened her home on many occasions, offering a smorgasbor­d of foods and plenty of laughter and love. She was so full of life and will be irreplacea­ble.

Marcella was preceded in death by her mother, Lottie Garcia Castro; father, Gregory Castro; husband, Cartha Bill Williams; brothers, Gregory Castro, Leonard Castro, and Ernest Castro; her son, Kenneth Jensen; and her daughter, Kathryn Jensen Roskey.

She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Garza Gandy and husband Larry Gandy; her son, Joe (Joey) Garza Jr. and wife Debbie Sliva Garza; grandsons Brian Miller and Kevin Gandy; granddaugh­ter, Alexandra Garza; and greatgrand­daughter, Halen Gandy. She is also survived by Bill’s daughter Mary Williams Eakman; and Bill’s sons, Mike Williams, and Blaine Williams and wife, Kim Williams; and many cousins, nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss her dearly.

Marcella’s heart will live on in those she loved and by those whom loved her. A visitation will be held beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 16, 2021, at Forest Park The Woodlands, located at 18000 I-45 South, Conroe, Texas 77384. Eulogies and a rosary will follow beginning at 6:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 17, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church located at 109 N. Frazier

St. , Conroe, Texas 77301. Interment will be at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home & Cemetery.
