Astros (86-60) update: After winning three of four at Texas, Houston is seven games up on Oakland and has a magic number of 10 to clinch the AL West. … The Astros enter their last interleagu­e series of the season with a 7-10 record against National League teams. … Jose Altuve tied Jose Cruz for fifth place all-time on two franchise lists Thursday night. Altuve scored twice to match Cruz at 871 career runs and also caught him with his 335th career double. Altuve is 19 runs and eight doubles shy of Cesar Cedeño, who is fourth in both categories.

Diamondbac­ks (47-99) update: Arizona enters the weekend with the majors’ worst record, which it shares with Baltimore. … The Diamondbac­ks have used 63 players this season, including 27 rookies. Both are club records. … Center fielder Ketel Marte, who has been limited to 76 games after straining his right hamstring in spring training and his left hamstring during the season, is slashing .323/.384/.533. Those figures would rank first/ fifth/seventh in the NL if he had enough at-bats to qualify. … Former Astros No. 1 pick Seth Beer, dealt to Arizona in the Zack Greinke trade of 2019, homered in his first big league at-bat on Sept. 10 and had hits in four of his first nine ABs. But he left Tuesday’s game after diving for a ball at first base, resulting in a dislocated left shoulder. He worked in the batting cage Wednesday and might avoid an IL stint.
