SMU AT TCU

When/where: 11 a.m. at Amon G. Carter Stadium, Fort Worth. TV: FS1.

Update: After not playing each other last year, this is the 100th edition of the Iron Skillet. In the most recent meeting in

2019, SMU won 41-38, ending a seven-year skid in the series.

MCNEESE (1-2) AT INCARNATE WORD (2-1)

When/where: 11 a.m. at Benson Stadium, San Antonio. Update: McNeese is playing its third straight game on the road. The Cowboys are opening Southland play against the Cardinals for the second straight season.

TEXAS STATE (1-2) AT EASTERN MICHIGAN (2-1)

When/where: 1 p.m. at Rynearson Stadium, Ypsilanti, Mich. Update: This is the first football meeting between the programs and Texas State’s second against a MAC team. Bobcats quarterbac­k Brady McBride has thrown a touchdown pass in 12 straight games.

IOWA STATE (2-1) AT BAYLOR (3-0)

When/where: 2:30 p.m. at McLane Stadium, Waco. TV: Fox. Update: The Cyclones head into their Big 12 opener having held four consecutiv­e opponents under 100 yards rushing for the first time since 1944. Abram Smith is the first Bear with three straight 100-yard rushing games since 2015.

UTSA (3-0) AT MEMPHIS (3-0)

When/where: 2:30 p.m. at the Liberty Bowl, Memphis.

TV: ESPNU.

Update: UTSA has allowed only 321 yards over its past two games combined. Memphis has won 17 straight games at home. The Tigers average 28.4 more points per game (42.7) than the Roadrunner­s allow (14.3).

SAM HOUSTON (2-0) AT CENTRAL ARKANSAS (1-2)

When/where: 4 p.m. at Estes Stadium, Conway, Ark. Update: No. 1. Sam Houston and No. 25 UCA are meeting for the sixth straight year with both teams ranked. The former Southland rivals are opening the WAC/ASUN Challenge.

GRAMBLING STATE (1-2) AT PRAIRIE VIEW A&M (2-1)

When/where: 4 p.m. at the Cotton Bowl, Dallas.

Update: The State Fair Classic is the SWAC opener for Grambling, which has been shut out in back-to-back games. Prairie View, coming off a 37-27 win over HBU, has won the past three in the series.

ABILENE CHRISTIAN (2-1) AT LAMAR (2-1)

When/where: 6 p.m. at Umphrey Stadium, Beaumont. Update: In last week’s 34-9 win over UTPB, ACU’s defense forced three fumbles and had two intercepti­ons. Running out of the triple option, Lamar leads the WAC in rushing plays per game.

LINCOLN (CA.) (1-1) AT STEPHEN F. AUSTIN (2-1)

When/where: 6 p.m. at Homer Bryce Stadium, Nacogdoche­s.

Update: Lincoln is an NCAA Division II first-year program. The game will be a Pink Out for the Lumberjack­s, coming off a 58-13 pounding of Mississipp­i Valley State.

NORTH TEXAS (1-2) AT LOUISIANA TECH (1-2)

When/where: 6 p.m. at Aillet Stadium, Ruston, La. Update: North Texas is looking to bounce back from a 40-6 home loss to UAB in its C-USA opener. Louisiana Tech is two plays away from being 3-0, with a pair of two-point losses.

NEW MEXICO (2-1) AT UTEP (2-1)

When/where: 8 p.m. at the Sun Bowl, El Paso.

Update: These former WAC mates are meeting for the first time in seven years. UTEP of C-USA is focusing on ball security, having had six turnovers in its previous game, a 54-13 defeat at Boise State.
