JERRY MURRAY

-

1939-2021

Jerrold “Jerry” Elmore Murray, age 81, died peacefully at his home in Sealy with his wife by his side on Saturday, September 25, 2021. Jerry was born November 7, 1939 to Audrey (Schoonover) and George Murray in Lolita, TX.

Jerry earned a living with his hands, which is a trait that he carried with him into his personal life. He wore many hats in his youth, but he found his success as an iron-worker. He went into business with his brother, Jon, in 1977 founding Ramco Erectors, a construction company in Houston that is still family-owned and operated. He retired in 2015 to focus on his garden, travel with his wife, and holding down his armchair. He was an avid deer hunter and gardener. His friends and family will remember that he loved telling “cute jokes” and giving the people he loved nicknames, and telling his wife he loved her the “mostest.” He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Betty Blankenship, and brothers Boyce, Paul, and Billy Valentine.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 42 years, Judy; his children, Su Murray, Kevin Murray (Monica), Tracy Williams (Debbie), and Shanna Ambler (Corey); grandchildren: Rachel Lewis, Marquise and Joshua Murray, Paige Williams, and Soren and Zaya Ambler; his brothers Jon and Glenn; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation for Jerry will be held from 5-7 pm Thursday, September 30, 2021 at First Baptist Church, 707 8th

St, Sealy, TX. Services will be held at 11 am on Friday, October, 1, 2021 at the church with a reception to follow. All are welcome to celebrate Jerry’s life, but the services will also be live streamed by First Baptist Church for those unable to attend in person.
