Marlene Rubish Capriotti of Houston, 81, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away on September 14, 2021, after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

Born in Colver, PA, on October 4, 1939, to the late William Rubish and Mary Selko Rubish.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, William Rubish. Survived by her loving husband, Dr. Robert Capriotti; beloved daughter Debbie, and son-in-law Ray White of Baytown, Texas; daughters Nicole Capriotti and Annie Capriotti of Florida; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert (Karen) Capriotti and Clayton (Eliana) Capriotti of Florida; beloved grandchildren Morgan Barr (Blaine Burnett) and Daniel Barr (Chase Collins) of Baytown, Texas; 6 grandchildren in Florida; great grandchildren Beckham and Olivia Burnett of Baytown, Texas.

Marlene started her career as a surgical nurse at Lee Hospital in Johnstown, PA, and she performed her job well, was never flustered, and remained cool under fire. She met Dr. Robert Capriotti at Lee Hospital where she assisted the OR manager. They fell in love and were married in 1977.

The Capriottis moved to Texas in 1980, where Dr. Capriotti relocated his ENT practice to Baytown. Marlene worked with the doctor as the office manager for his practice, until he became a cosmetic surgeon, where she then assisted as his surgical nurse. She continued to work with him, at Capriotti Cosmetic Surgery Center, sharing time between the office and the OR. They also started a rural clinic where they screened patients for head and neck disorders. At every facility, Marlene was welcomed to help patients with whatever issues they might have, whether medical or nonmedical. Dr. Caprotti states, “Marlene was the heart of the practice. I couldn’t have asked for a better partner or a nicer person to be around. I learned a lot just by observing her interactions with all sorts of people.”

Marlene retired when Dr. Capriotti moved his practice from Baytown to Houston. Her final years were dedicated to her husband and grandchildren. She had a love of fashion, film, traveling and caring for stray animals, adopting as many as she could and donating to various animal rescue programs and charities.
