1948-2021 Robert Lacy Wullschleg­er, 73, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, in Houston, Texas, surrounded by his family. Robert (better known as Butch or Bob) was born January 5, 1948, in Pittsburg, Texas, to Sherrill Wullschleg­er and Oneta Birdwell Wullschleg­er. The family eventually settled in New Braunfels, Texas, where Bob graduated from New Braunfels High School in 1966. He received a bachelor’s degree in business administra­tion from Southwest Texas State University and served in the National Guard. During college, Bob also played lead drums for a band, the Mad Mods, and performed with them at numerous venues.

Bob’s career in the oilfield services industry spanned 40 years, which allowed him to travel extensivel­y and develop a love of different cultures around the world. Upon his retirement in 2015, Bob, along with his beloved wife, Jeannie, fulfilled a lifelong dream of retiring in Belize where he enjoyed fishing, good wine and spending time with his devoted German Shepherd, Orchid.

Additional­ly, Bob served his community honorably as a volunteer firefighte­r with the Spring Fire Department for over 11 years.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Rebecca Janeen Laws Wullschleg­er, and his children, Jason Wullschleg­er and partner, Quentin Dunn, of Houston; and Marti Titus (Morris) and husband, Kevin Morris, of Anchorage, Alaska; grandson Keegan Morris, of Anchorage, Alaska; sister, Sherilyn Wullschleg­er (Kozodoy) and husband, Jay Kozodoy, of Houston; and numerous nephews, cousins and dear friends.

A Celebratio­n of Life service will be October 15 at 11 a.m. at Bradshaw Carter Memorial and Funeral Home located at 1734 W. Alabama St., Houston, Texas, 77098. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to the Spring Firefighte­r Assistance Fund c/o, Spring Fire Department, 656 E. Louetta, Spring, Texas 77346.
