Treemont’s Halloween Monster Bash a huge smash

-

They did the monster mash, and it was a smash! Treemont Retirement Community continues to celebrate the tradition of the fun festive month of October. Crunchy leaves, the smell of pumpkin spice, and fall decorations give the sense of seasons changing. Residents prepare for the spooky season by coming downstairs to see the annual haunted house. Families and friends drop by to see their loved ones. There are also decorations in the dining room.

On Oct. 29, residents and staff got their fill of candy during our treat or treat with Little Lights, a nonprofit Christian-based organization for families with young children who give back to their community This can include singalongs, homemade cards, and donations. Treemont was thrilled to host and support this oneof-a-kind organization. The young children were dressed up in their Halloween costumes and went to different tables and residents to trick or treat. These adorable children brought a huge a smile to residents.

Activities director Rose Lau loves to put on a grand party for residents to attend, with spooky decorations.

“I started in March 2020 and activities were significantly limited,” said Lau. “It’s a relief to see the joy on our residents’ faces now that they can mingle and get back to some of Treemont’s well-known activities programming.” The Monster Bash was destined to be the talk of the community. Residents sported fun costumes and the Treemont staff wore creative costumes to delight residents. The 19-piece swing band, the Lone Star Big Band, kicked off the evening at 7:30 p.m. to get the bash started. Residents, including Treemont’s Pink Ladies, were treated to music of their era, plus delicious finger foods and drinks made by chef James Renshaw.
