Evee, Rice win at New Orleans
Travis Evee scored 19 points, Carl Pierre added 15 and Chris Mullins contributed 11 points and 10 assists as the Rice Owls held off New Orleans 83-78 at Kiefer Lakefront Arena in New Orleans Friday night.
Max Fiedler finished with 12 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists for Rice (3-1) and Jake Lieppert added 13 points.
Derek St. Hilaire led New Orleans (1-3) with 21 points.
