Sacramento survives Fox’s ejection
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — De’Aaron Fox scored 21 points before being ejected in the fourth quarter, Marvin Bagley III made a clutch 3-pointer with 30 seconds left and the Sacramento Kings held off the Portland Trail Blazers 125-121 Wednesday night.
Buddy Hield added 22 points in 30 minutes off the bench, and Davion Mitchell added 16 points to give the Kings their first win under interim coach Alvin Gentry. Gentry took over after Luke Walton was fired Sunday.
Damian Lillard had 32 points and 10 assists for Portland. Jusuf Nurkic added a season-high 28 points and 17 rebounds. The Trail Blazers had won four in a row.
Fox was ejected with 6:06 left after picking up back-to-back technical fouls on a night highlighted by six technicals and
two player ejections. Portland’s Robert Covington was ejected in the first half for a hostile act after tossing his goggles near the feet of a referee.
The Kings won for the second time in 10 games.
WARRIORS 116, 76ERS 96
Stephen Curry scored 25 points to younger brother Seth’s 24 for visiting Philadelphia, and Golden State used a big second-half comeback to beat the 76ers for its fifth straight win.
Juan Toscano-Anderson came up big off the bench in the second half, scoring all of his 13 points after the break to go with six rebounds and six assists.
Jordan Poole added 17 points and six assists for the Warriors. He beat the buzzer from halfcourt at halftime to get Golden State within 61-52.
Seth Curry, who had been questionable with lower back stiffness, started 4 of 6 and outscored big brother 17-14 in the first half. He wound up 8 of 16 from the floor, missing all five of his 3-point tries.
HAWKS 124, SPURS 106
Trae Young scored 31 points and visiting Atlanta beat San Antonio for its sixth straight victory.
Bogdan Bogdanovic had 18 points and John Collins added 15 to help Atlanta (10-9) to just its second road win this season. Clint Capela finished with 11 points and 13 rebounds.
Bryn Forbes had a season-high 23 points and Dejounte Murray added 22 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds for San Antonio.
San Antonio (4-13) lost its sixth straight and is on pace for its worst season since a franchise-low 2062 in 1997.
