Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller will make a cameo appearance on two episodes of “1883,” a new cowboy series premiering on Paramount Network, Miller wrote on Facebook.

The show is a spinoff of “Yellowstone” on the same network. It stars Sam Elliott, who was nominated for an Oscar for his role in “A Star is Born.”

Miller posted a photo with the actor from the show’s set. Miller, a conservative Republican and staunch and early supporter of former President Donald Trump, has drawn criticism for spreading falsehoods and radical conspiracy theories through his popular Facebook page, which has 839,000 followers.

“I met a new friend last week when I was filming my cameo appearance in 1883 which is the Yellowstone origin story,” Miller wrote. “Sam Elliott is a great actor and it was a pleasure to spend some time with him and get to know him.”

Miller will appear in the sixth episode of the series as a background extra, CBS confirmed in an email.

It’s doubtful they talked much politics. Last year, Elliott — with his trademark gravelly voice — provided the voicework for a Joe Biden advertisement during his 2020 presidential campaign.

“There is so much we can do if we choose to take on problems and not each other, and choose a president who brings out our best. Joe Biden doesn’t need everyone in this country to always agree. Just to agree that we love this country,” Elliott says in the ad.

Miller’s appearance in “1883” won’t be his first turn in front of the camera. He had a role, albeit an unwitting one, in 2020’s “Borat:

Subsequent Moviefilm.” He appeared in a trailer for the film, although the footage was not included in the final cut.

“Yep, its official, I got ‘Boratted’!” Miller wrote in a Facebook post last year. “The interview took place last fall and it was one of the strangest I’ve ever had.”
