Orioles rally for sixth straight win

BALTIMORE — Trey Mancini hit a game-winning single in a three-run ninth inning, and the Baltimore Orioles extended their season-high win streak to six games with a 5-4 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Friday night.

Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani both homered on the night they earned All-Star selections, with Ohtani’s 19th giving the Angels a 4-2 lead in the ninth.

But Raisel Iglesias (2-5) allowed a two-out RBI double to Adley Rutschman that cut the lead to 4-3. Cedric Mullins then tied the game with a run-scoring single. Mancini then set off a raucous celebratio­n with the sharp hit to left.

Marlins 5, Mets 2: Garrett Cooper hit a two-run homer off the right field foul pole and Bryan De La Cruz doubled three times as Miami won at New York for the Marlins’ seventh win in nine games.

Yankees 12, Red Sox 5: Josh Donaldson hit a threerun homer in a four-run first inning, Matt Carpenter homered among three hits and New York won at Boston for the Yankees’ 10th win in their last 11 games against the Red Sox.

Phillies 2, Cardinals 0: Alec Bohm hit two solo home runs, Zach Wheeler outpitched Adam Wainwright and Philadelph­ia won at St. Louis.

Padres 6, Giants 3: Manny Machado hit a threerun homer and Blake Snell struck out 11 for his first victory of the season, leading San Diego to a victory over visiting San Francisco.

Dodgers 4, Cubs 3 (10): Mookie Betts hit a tying sacrifice fly in the ninth inning, and Will Smith hit a winning single in the 10th to lead host Los Angeles to its eighth straight win against Chicago.

Rangers 6, Twins 5: Corey Seager hit a tie-breaking three-run homer and host Texas snapped a fourgame losing streak with a win over AL Central-leading Minnesota.

Braves 12, Nationals 2: Ronald Acuna Jr. and Matt Olson homered off Erick Fedde, rookie Michael Harris II went 4 for 4, and host Atlanta crushed Washington.

Reds 2, Rays 1 (10): Mark Kolozsvary scored on a game-ending balk by Matt Wisler in the 10th inning, lifting host Cincinnati over Tampa Bay.

Tigers 7, White Sox 5: Jeimer Candelario homered and drove in three runs, and host Detroit won its sixth straight game.

Brewers 4, Pirates 3: Willy Adames homered and threw out Kevin Newman at the plate to end the game as host Milwaukee edged Pittsburgh.

Royals 4, Guardians 3: Michael A. Taylor hit a game-ending RBI single as Kansas City won at home.

Rockies 6, Diamondbac­ks 5: Kris Bryant had his first multi-homer game of the season, leading Colorado to a win at Arizona.
