July 5, 2022 Gordon E. White, born in Guthrie, Oklahoma was reared in Amarillo, Texas. Gordon graduated from Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas with a degree in Biology. Gordon was accepted to medical school, but his path led him to the United States Air Force. As a commissioned officer he served as a B-47 Combat Crew Navigator, during which, he survived the crash of one of the bombers. After the Air Force in 1963, Gordon became a special agent with what later became the United States Drug Enforcement Agency. He became a supervisor and was promoted to Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Houston, Tx office. Gordon attended law school at the University of Houston and upon his retirement from the D.E.A. in 1985, practiced law in Houston until his retirement from law practice in 2006. While Gordon’s legal career contained many stellar and high profile moments, few were more interesting than the time Gordon and his son, an assistant district attorney, squared off against each other in a criminal trial in Fort Bend County, Texas. By all accounts the case ended in a tie.
