Philip Sydney Hudson, age 67, of Missouri City, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2023. Philip was born in Anchorage, Alaska, to Iris and William Ray Hudson on Tuesday, October 11, 1955.

Philip received his B.B.A from Abilene Christian University in 1978 before obtaining his M.P.A. from Baylor University in 1981. Philip retired after more than 40 years as an Accountant.

He was an active member of both the Sugar Grove Church of Christ and the Elks Lodge Stafford #151. Philip was a gourmet cook. He cooked frequently for the members of the Elks Lodge and their families and the veterans sponsored by the Lodge. Philip also enjoyed cooking for his sisters and brother and their families, serving them his marvelous homemade biscuits for breakfast while his twin brother Bill cooked eggs and sausage. Philip gloried in surprising his family with his gourmet dishes and desserts. He even made his own kombucha, sauerkraut, beer and wine.

Philip was an accomplish­ed gardener who delighted when seeds sprouted in the spring. He and Bill frequently sent photos of their best vegetables to the other members of the Hudson family.

His other hobbies included fishing, quilting, kayaking and top spinning. He donated the quilts to auction off at the meetings of the Lodge as a fundraiser for the Lodge and to support veterans. Philip was a ham radio operator and an active participan­t in emergency communicat­ions. He excelled at all of his hobbies and other interests.

Philip is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Charlene Whisenant Hudson, his sisters Nancy Rash, Evelyn Biery, Susan Eddleman, Sherrie Sutphen, Corliss Englert and his brother Bill Hudson.

Philip was preceded in death by his mother and father Iris and William Ray Hudson and his sister Marilyn Tucker.

A visitation for Philip will be held Thursday, February 9, 2023, from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at The Settegast-Kopf Company @ Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Fwy, Sugar Land, TX 77478. A funeral service will occur Thursday, February 9, 2023, at 2:00 PM, with a reception to follow from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM.
