Reid was preceded by his parents, James Reid Perry and Particia Anne Perry (Young) in 2022.

He is survived by his 5devoted ad loving wife of 33 years Kim and son Austen Reid Perry of Cypress, Texas; sisters, Daryn (Don) Wasek of Austin, Texas, Alyson (Scot) Drake of Cuero, Texas; nieces and nephews Kristyn (Seth) Johnson, Kymber (Colton) Albrecht, Kyle (Kenzie) Drake, Alyssa Wasek and Mitchell Wask; great nephews Braxton and Brody Drake and soon to arrive, Breck Albrecht; Aunt Kina Young Anderson, Gale Young Rieger and numerous cousins.

Reid was born in Austin, Texas ;and raised in Angleton and the surroundin­g area. He graduated from Angleton High School in 1979. In may of 1998, Reid graduated from Le Tourneau University with his Bachelors of Science degree. He then went on to South Texas College of Law where he earned his Doctor of Jurisprude­nce in May 2002 to proudly become James Reid Perry, III Esq., Attorney and Counselor at Law. He was recognized by the Supreme Court of Texas November 2002. Reid continued to practice law until his death. He was a member of Harris County Criminal Lawyers Associatio­n, The Internatio­nal Legal Fraternity of Phi Delta Phi, since April 1999 and the Collaborat­ive Law Institute of Texas since June 2008.

Reid also loved sports, especially baseball and was avid Astros fan, as well as all sports pertaining to the University of Texas Longhorns; but his favorite was football.

Reid leaves many loyal and cherished friends, as well. He will be enormously missed; he is now at peace and walking free of his burdens with the Almighty in Heaven?
