Blanton Snodgrass, 99, of Houston, TX was born September 10, 1923 in Winnsboro, TX to Henry and Pearl Snodgrass, went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 21, 2023. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He attended Texas A&M, The University of Houston and received his L.L.B. from South Texas College of Law in 1951 and was admitted to the Texas Bar that year.

He specialize­d in the Oil, Gas and Land Law, representi­ng both major and independen­t producers, along with geologist assembling their own drilling prospects. Blanton served in World War II (Southwest Pacific) as a combat infantryma­n participat­ing in four amphibious assaults. After retirement he enjoyed spending time at his resort home in Key Allegro and at his ranch in Hallettsvi­lle. He loved traveling with his wife on their many adventures, spending time with his friends and family, and watching every sports game with his best friends, Charlie and Lupe.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret V. Beran Snodgrass; daughter, Deborah Snodgrass Parsons; brother, Weldon Snodgrass; and sisters, Jessie Ruth Davis, Doris Butler, Virginia Sprankle, Merle Mahaffey, and Precia Harris.

Blanton is survived by many extended family members and friends.

A Graveside Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in East Bernard, TX. In lieu of flowers, memory contributi­ons can be made in Blanton’s name to K9s for Warriors, k9sforwarr­iors.org. Condolence­s may be offered at www.millerfune­ral.com
