Barbara Jean Monteau Blevins, 88, of Houston, Texas, Passed away on November 6, 2023.
Barbara was born to Cleo Ameil Monteau Sr. and Marie Antoinette Coproni on October 4,1935 in Houston, Texas. She grew up in the Denver Harbor Area and attended Jeff Davis High School where she was involved in various school activities including Drill Team and High School. She worked for State Farm for 35 years, starting as a secretary and working her way up to retire as one of the first female Claims Adjusters in the company. She raised 4 children and was involved in various community groups including the Red Hatters Club. She was very active at First United Methodist Church and served on many of the charities along with managing the Alter Guild at King of Kings Lutheran Church for many years.
She is survived by her son Michael Wayne Blevins and Daughter, Diane Murray and Son in Law, John Murray. Grandchildren: Michelle DeBerry & Husband L.A., Krystal Blevins , Amanda Blevins & Husband Jaramie, Brent Blevins, Courtney Blevins Hempstead, Brittany Blevins, Derrick Murray, Cassandra Murray Clark & husband Chase, and Cody Murray. She was preceded in death by her parents; Cleo Ameil Monteau & Marie Antionette Monteau, Sons: Tommy and Mark Blevins, and daughter in law, Karen Blevins.
A public visitation for Barbara will be held Friday, November 17, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. Followed by a funeral service Friday, November 17, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A graveside service will occur Friday, November 17, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at 6900 Lawndale St, Houston, TX 77023. Water and Coffee will be provided.
