Missing 19-year-old from Sugar Land found slain in Houston
A 19-year-old from Sugar Land who was reported missing last week was found fatally shot Sunday in southwest Houston.
In a Facebook post, Trevion Butler’s mother, Andrea Butler, confirmed her son was found dead in the 2700 block of Grand Fountains Drive.
Trevion Butler’s body was found around 12:40 p.m. Sunday in a wooded area about 50 yards from the roadway, according to the Houston Police Department.
He was reported missing by his family on Thursday after he hadn’t been seen for more than 24 hours, according to the Sugar Land Police Department. Missing persons posters circulated online show that Butler was last seen in the same block where he was found dead.
Grand Fountain Drive is on the the northern edge of a wooded area at the corner of Buffalo Speedway and Holmes Road. The area is about 10 miles northeast of Sugar Land.
Butler’s body was found by a man hired by a family to investigate his disappearance, according to Houston TV station KPRC. Albert Flores told the station that he flew a drone over the area and spotted his body.
On Sunday, Doug Adolph, a spokesman for the Sugar Land Police Department, said the department didn’t find any signs of foul play during its missing persons investigation. On Monday, the Houston Police Department said Butler had suffered a gunshot wound but that the circumstances and manner of his death were still under investigation.
