COLLEGE STATION — Texas A&M basketball player Julius Marble has been charged with sexual assault and as of Thursday morning was in the Brazos County Jail with a $50,000 bond.

Marble did not play this past season for the Aggies after coach Buzz Williams said in late October the senior was undergoing a “university process” to determine whether he would be eligible.

According to a police report released Thursday, Marble sexually assaulted the woman in his apartment in the early hours of Oct. 14 of last year after the two, who were acquaintances, had been with mutual friends in College Station’s Northgate bar district. A police officer noted visible bite marks on the accuser after she had gone to the hospital the morning after leaving Marble’s apartment.

The accuser told officers Marble had undressed her while they were alone in his bedroom, pushed her on his bed and began biting her in multiple places. According to the report Marble “penetrated Jane Doe’s vagina multiple times with his fingers and attempted to penetrate her with his penis multiple times while Jane Doe continued to say no and tried to push him off her.”

The accuser grabbed her clothes and left the apartment naked after Marble “finally gave up,” according to the report, and she called a friend to pick her up outside the apartment. From there she went to her home and then the hospital, the report stated.

According to the report the next day Marble sent the accuser a message through Instagram “saying he did not remember what happened and apologized if he had hurt her,” and College Station police have a photo of the message as evidence.

Marble, who’s from Dallas, played in all 35 of the Aggies’ games in 2022-23 prior to his suspension just before the start of this past season. A&M continued listing Marble on the roster throughout the season that ended with a loss to Houston in the second round of the NCAA Tournament last month. The Aggies played their first game on Nov. 6, 23 days after the alleged assault.
