MARGARET (PEGGY) PARKERSON
1940 - 2017
Margaret (Peggy) Parkerson 76, of El Centro, was called home to eternal life with Christ on February 18, 2017.
Peggy came to California as a young woman, where she then dedicated her life to raising her 4 boys and 4 step children. She worked passionately in the food and beverage industry, where she developed the art of cooking. Peggy was a beloved mother and grandmother (Nana). She loved to feed and nurture every living soul. Her home had an open-door policy where all were welcomed with love, support, comfort and a warm meal. She was famous for her cooking (biscuits and gravy and homemade cinnamon rolls, just to name a few).
Peggy was preceded in death by her late husband, Benny Ray Parkerson and sons, Mike and Ricky Norwood.
Her survivors include her sons, Jay Norwood and Donny Johnson; daughter-in-laws, Patty, Arlene and Carla; her sister, Sharon Kay; niece, Lisa; grandchildren, Trina, Nicholas, Richard, Steven, Jesse, Breanna, Dillon, Donnetta, Jovanni, Nicolette, Julia, Jade, Angela; 14 great-grand children and numerous nieces and nephews.
Peggy was a “Mother” to all and will be dearly missed. Please join us in a celebration of her life at 10 a.m. on March 10th at Christ Community Church 590 W. Orange Ave. El Centro. Followed by a burial service at Evergreen Cemetery in El Centro and then returning back to Christ Community Church for a lunch reception at 12:30 p.m.
