Tigers top meet

The Central Union and Imperial high track and field teams met for an Imperial Valley League contest at Ed Raulston Memorial Track on a windy Thursday afternoon.

The Tigers were able to come away with a pair of wins as the girls won 71-56 and the boys won 80-47.

For the Imperial girls, Felicia Mallillin won the 100 meters (13.93) and was part of the winning 400-meter relay (5 minutes, 5.97 seconds) with Mia Torres, Andrea Serrano and Arianna Cebreros.

Caitlin Brown won the 3200 meters (14:21.69), Jessica Dick won the 100-meter hurdles (18.56), Mia Torres won the 300-meter hurdles (56.90), Tania Greve won the shot put (30feet, 4-inches), Emily Carrillo won the discus (83-feet, 4-inches) and Keren Hogue won the triple jump (30-feet, 2-inches).

For the Spartans, Karen Ortiz won the 200 meters (29.80) and the 400 meters (1:04.78), Christina Marquez won the 800 meters (2:53.40), the high jump (4-feet, 8-inches) and the long jump (14-feet, 1-inch) and Nohemi Anderson won the 1600 meters (6:11.58)

For the Imperial boys, Malik McNair won the 100 meters (11.45), the 200 meters (24.06) and was part of the winning 100-meter relay (44.93) with Raymond Beamon, David Savage and Rodolfo Avila.

Joey Tarango won the 400 meters (53.83), Hector Nichols won the 1600 meters (4:57.47), Jesus Vasquez won the 110-meter hurdles (16.78), Justin Denault won the 300-meter hurdles (44.33), Brandon Hueso won the shot put (40-feet), David Savage won the long jump (19feet, 11-inches) and Jesus Vasquez won the triple jump (42-feet, 4-inches).

For the Spartan boys, Adrian Atondo won the 800 meters (2:08.90), Luis Sandoval won the 3200 meters (12:55.98), Angel Rico won the discus (122-feet, 4-inches) and Steven Marquez won the high jump (5feet, 10-inches).
