Jaime Kobayashi
94, Westmorland
Jaime Kobayashi, 94, was born in Glendale, Arizona on December 14, 1922. She entered Heaven’s gates on April 8, 2017.
Jaime was a wonderful mother and homemaker working very closely with Mineo in M. Kobayashi Trucking in Westmorland for over 55 years. She was a long-time member of the Japanese American Citizens League, Presbyterian Church, and Methodist Church. Jaime was also actively engaged with the Church Choirs, Brawley Women’s Club, Imperial Valley Art Association, the American Cancer Society, and the Japanese American Gallery of Pioneer Museum. The Kobayashi’s were relocated from Imperial Valley to Astoria of Oakdale and Stacie’s Chalet in Modesto 9 years ago.
Jaime was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Mineo Kobayashi.
Jaime is survived by her son, Paul Kobayashi and his wife Lois; daughters Susan Hampton and her husband Tom, and Janet Godwin and her husband William. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
The Celebration of Life will be held on May 6, 2017 at Frye Chapel at 10:30 a.m. with the burial following at Riverview Cemetery.
