Jaime Kobayashi, 94, was born in Glendale, Arizona on December 14, 1922. She entered Heaven’s gates on April 8, 2017.

Jaime was a wonderful mother and homemaker working very closely with Mineo in M. Kobayashi Trucking in Westmorlan­d for over 55 years. She was a long-time member of the Japanese American Citizens League, Presbyteri­an Church, and Methodist Church. Jaime was also actively engaged with the Church Choirs, Brawley Women’s Club, Imperial Valley Art Associatio­n, the American Cancer Society, and the Japanese American Gallery of Pioneer Museum. The Kobayashi’s were relocated from Imperial Valley to Astoria of Oakdale and Stacie’s Chalet in Modesto 9 years ago.

Jaime was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Mineo Kobayashi.

Jaime is survived by her son, Paul Kobayashi and his wife Lois; daughters Susan Hampton and her husband Tom, and Janet Godwin and her husband William. She is also survived by 5 grandchild­ren, and 7 great-grandchild­ren.

The Celebratio­n of Life will be held on May 6, 2017 at Frye Chapel at 10:30 a.m. with the burial following at Riverview Cemetery.
