Branding Iron Award set to honor distinguished volunteer
BRAWLEY — The Chamber of Commerce warmly welcomes the Imperial Valley community to the annual 2017 Dinner & Branding Iron Award Ceremony this Thursday.
Festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. and conclude at 8 p.m. This year’s event is scheduled for the Stockmen’s Club, 275 Marjorie Ave. Admission will be $50 per person or $90 couple. The Chamber urges everybody to celebrate its accomplishments under the stewardship of President Liz Gonzales as well as the introduction of incoming President Theresa Robertson.
The ceremony offers dinner, silent auction, special awards and presentation of the Branding Iron Award. The event is aimed to thank Chamber members, remarked Gracie Romero, office manager. They want to express appreciation for their participation and support throughout the year in making Chamber events possible.
The prestigious award was established in 1976 to recognize deserving residents who have shown years of outstanding community service and volunteer efforts. The 2016 recipient was Liz Gonzales, Hart Insurance Center, Inc., agency principal. The previous year the awardees were Joanie and Jeff Moore while in 2014 Greg Smith received the award.
This will be 113th annual meeting for the Chamber and with a new president they are excited about new prospects and looking forward to continued future growth for the organization, noted Romero. Prior years’ presentations had enthusiastic attendance and were embraced with a lot of support from partners and sponsors.
Various sponsorship opportunities are available. A dinner sponsor for $1,000 includes a reserved table, 10 tickets, a banner ad on the Chamber website and other perquisites. A table sponsor for $850 also receives a reserved table of 10 tickets and additional amenities. A wine sponsor for $300 will get two event tickets, VIP table seating and additional amenities and a silent auction gift donor get name recognition in the program and verbal recognition during the event.
