A 24-year-old man wanted in connection to the fatal stabbing of a woman on Tuesday in Placerville was arrested early Friday morning by El Centro police, the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Bernardo Castillo was arrested at 1:50 a.m. in the 1000 block of North Imperial Avenue after El Centro police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle, an EDCSO press release stated.
An El Dorado County judge had issued a no bail warrant for Castillo on Wednesday in connection to the fatal stabbing of 49-year-old Silvia Castillo, of Placerville.
A 4-year-old girl was also discovered with multiple stab wounds Tuesday evening at the home in the 300 block of Newton Road in Placerville. The girl has since underwent surgery and is expected to survive, according to Northern California media reports.
Castillo’s is somehow related to the deceased and the child, according to media reports, but that relationship was not immediately clear. Nor was the relationship between the deceased and the child.
