Two men indicted for golf club robbery.
A state judge indicted two individuals allegedly linked to the June 14 robbery at Campestre Golf Club in southern Mexicali, said the Attorney General’s office.
In a press release, authorities said Ramiro “Doe” and Miguel Angel “Doe” were indicted under charges of robbery, carjacking and false imprisonment.
According to the agency the suspects arrived armed to the golf course along with a third accomplice whom authorities have not identified.
The suspects allegedly punched two security guards posted at the club entrance.
The agency reported that the suspects then entered the club premises and brandished their firearms against around 20 players who were holding a Father’s Day party.
According to the agency the suspects took 11 cell phones, jewelry, a Rolex watch, cash, identification cards and bank cards.
The suspects were arrested moments later thanks to the GPS of one of the cell phones.
The judge decided to keep the suspects in jail during trial and gave detectives four months to close the investigation.
