Three victims were injured after a stabbing incident that occurred June 10 during a house party in Calexico.

Calexico Police Department identified the victims as one 18-yearold male, one 18-year-old female and one male minor.

One victim was transported by ambulance to El Centro Regional Medical Center and the second victim was transported to ECRMC by his family, stated Calexico Police Department activity logs.

The third victim was only slashed, not stabbed, and received only minor injuries, stated the police department, which confirmed Wednesday that all three victims have since been released from hospital care.

No arrests have been made in connection to the incident.

The police department has identified a suspect, a 19-year-old El Centro man, and is currently awaiting an arrest warrant from the Imperial County District Attorney’s Office.

The police department’s activity logs identify the suspect as 19-year-old Andrew Landa.

The stabbing incident took place in the early morning of June 10 in the 900 block of Establo Street during a house party, which was reportedly advertised across social media and had an attendance of over 30 people from across the Imperial Valley.

Calexico Police Department Lieutenant Gonzalo C. Gerardo stated a majority of those in attendance were under the age of 21 and consuming alcohol.

The police department is currently searching for the host of the party and look to work with the county District Attorney’s Office to file charges against the host for allowing minors to consume alcohol on the property.

A fight during the party between the suspect and a victim from El Centro escalated into the suspect stabbing the victim.

Gerardo explained after the initial stabbing, another victim tried to interview and stop the fight and was also stabbed by the suspect.

The third victim, a bystander, was then slashed by the suspect.

No weapons were found on any of the victims, stated Gerardo.

Calexico police officers were dispatched at 12:30 a.m. June 10 to the residence on Establo Street in reference to a stabbing that just occurred, stated the police department’s activity logs.

The police department also requested assistance from U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agents.

“Our involvement with regards to this incident was mainly to help secure the residence,” explained Border Patrol Agent James C. Fail.

A reporting party stated at the time of the initial 911 that the suspect was still on the scene although no arrests were reportedly made.

The victims and witnesses were contacted and a report was taken for assault with a deadly weapon, stated the activity logs.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is urged to contact the police department.
