Elections are coming, let’s focus on the issues
Last year’s November elections were heated at the Presidential level. Things were said that clouded the issues that our country currently faces. Locally, races were clean and respectful.
Let’s make sure to keep it that way this coming November.
We have several races this coming November: Monday was the official opening day for filing candidate for 35 seats for school and special districts, and two seats on the Brawley Council.
Each has its issues it will face and we encourage the candidates to focus on how they plan to address those issues, talk about the challenges that currently faces your specific district and how you propose to fix it.
Let’s not fall into debates clouding the important issues our community is facing.
Also, we encourage every candidate to educate themselves on the process of filing paperwork.
A simple call to our county Election’s Department will help clear up any questions.
Unfortunately, the Election’s Department won’t have a candidate’s workshop before these coming elections, but will before next year’s June elections.
However, we encourage you to find more information at the county Election’s Department website at www. co.imperial.ca.us or the state at www. sos.ca.gov/elections/
Our readers want to make sure their vote is used wisely.
