DANNY GENE SMITH Jan. 4, 1935 - July 30, 2017
Danny Gene Smith, 82, was born on January 4, 1935, in Hubbard, Texas and passed away on July 30, 2017 while surrounded by his family at his home in El Cajon.
Dan grew up in Texas and moved with his family to El Centro in 1956 where he married Lynda McHenry, his beloved wife of the last 58 years. He became a recognized heavy equipment and commercial vehicle operator with the Ryerson Concrete Company.
He loved the outdoors and hiking and passed down to his entire family a love for Mexican food, his favorites being the No. 2 at Camacho’s, and the Hamburger Steak Mexican Style at La Hacienda.
He is survived by his wife Lynda, sons John and Kenneth Smith, daughters Dana Smith and Dianna McCalmont; nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren; sisters Glenda Paradise and Carolyn Edwards.
Everyone is invited to a Celebration of Dan’s life that will be held in the chapel of the Legacy Funeral Home in La Mesa (legacyfuneralcare.com) on Thursday, August 3, 2017, followed by internment in the El Cajon Cemetery.

Elvira A. Marquez, 88, of Brawley, CA passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2017.
Elvira was born on May 16, 1928 in Smelder, TX.
Elvira is survived by her children, Elvira Gonzales, Norma Marquez, Christina Alvarado, Anita Marquez, Emily Garcia, Lucy Marquez and Louis Marquez all of Brawely; brother, Adolfo Singh and Manendar Singh both of Brawely; sister, Margaret Singh of Brawley and numerous, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2017 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Frye Chapel and Mortuary in Brawley, CA. Service will be held on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 9 a.m. at Frye Chapel and Mortuary in Brawley, CA. Burial will immediately follow at Riverview Cemetery in Brawley, CA.
FERMIN ALFREDO REYES July 10, 1950 - July 28, 2017
Fermin Reyes, 67, of Brawley passed away on Friday, July 28, 2017.
He was born July 10, 1950 in Brawley and worked for Claypool Distributing as a warehouse man. After that he was self employed as a mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Angie Reyes; mother, Rosa Reyes; brother, Marcos Reyes and sister, Geraldina Berlangas.
Fermin is survived by his daughters, Cindy Reyes and Lori Reyes; sisters, Sarah Serna, Rosemarie Rieborn, Maggie Cruz and Teresa Meza; brothers, William Reyes; Guelfrido Reyes and Felipe Reyes and numerous grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Frye Chapel and Mortuary in Brawley at 6 to 9 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. Service will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at 10 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Church and will be officiated by Father Ed Horning. Burial will immediately follow at Riverview Cemetery in Brawley.

Elsa Valdez Martinez, 67, of Imperial, CA passed away of natural causes on Wednesday, August 2, 2017.
Elsa was born on July 30, 1950 in Brownsville, TX. She married Manuel Felix on August 8, 2005 in El Centro, CA. Elsa was a housewife.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jesse Pequero.
She is survived by her husband, Manuel; daughters, Maria Escobedo and Nelly Torres; sons, Juan Francisco Pequero and Mariano Torres and 18 grandkids.

Mario was born on June 12, 1938 in Penjamo Guanajuato. He married Rosaalba Arreola Mosqueda on February 13, 1982 in Castroville, CA.
He is survived by his beloved wife, children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren.

LONNIE FLOYD Oct. 13, 1932 - July 18, 2017
Lonnie Floyd, 84, passed away July 18, 2017 in Springfield, Missouri.
He retired from Imperial County Department of Public Works in 1988 after 37 years.
He is survived by daughters: Mary Blanchard (David), Brighton, CO; Brenda King (Ted), Seneca, MO; Beverly Dolye (Steve), Commerce City, CO; 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
