Men arrested for robbery at eatery.
Two men were arrested Saturday for their alleged involvement in a robbery reported at a deli restaurant, said the Municipal Public Safety Department.
Authorities said the incident was reported at the emergency dispatching center at 6 p.m. at Montejano Boulevard and Norma Street at Fraccionamiento Residencias subdivision, just east of the Civic Center.
The police identified the suspects as Jose Antonio “Doe,” 44, and Eloi Alfredo “Doe,” 40.
According to the police, the suspects arrived at Wrap restaurant and brandished a knife, a teaser and a revolver against employees and customers.
The suspects took 1,800 pesos or about $100, as well as $76 in US currency, four purses, two wallets and three smartphones.
After the robbery, the suspects fled on a black Volkswagen Cabriolet.
Police officers found and chased the suspects until Churubusco Avenue and Jose Antonio Torres Street at Colonia Insurgentes subdivision, a few blocks east of the scene.
The suspects abandoned the vehicle and entered Maestro Antonio Caso kindergarten, but were arrested moments later.
Police officers located the robbed items in a trash can at the school.
A third suspect was able to flee, authorities said.
