Student arrested after school shooting threat

A West Shores High School student was arrested Tuesday night after threatenin­g to shoot the school stated county Sheriff’s Office arrest records.

The student, a male juvenile, reportedly posted on social media that he was going “to shoot the school,” stated ICSO activity logs.

At about 10 a.m. Tuesday, county Sheriff’s deputies arrived at the student’s residence and spoke with the student, who stated he did post the statement as a prank.

Deputies spoke with the parent of the student and checked his room for any suspicious material. No suspicious material was found and the juvenile was arrested at about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

County sheriff’s deputies first responded to the incident at about 9 a.m. Tuesday.
