Two women arrested for felony drug offenses
On Tuesday, two women previously arrested in Yuma, Ariz., were re-arrested at the Brawley Courthouse for an alleged drug offense and conspiracy to commit a crime, stated county Sheriff’s Office arrest records.
Vanessa Duarte, 29, was taken into custody at 3:35 p.m. Tuesday at the court by county Sheriff’s deputies while Guadalupe I. Rivera, 40, was taken into custody at 3:43 p.m. Both women were previously arrested at 9:30 p.m. Oct. 5 between southbound Highway 86 and Poe Road in Westmorland by Imperial Valley Narcotics Task Force agents.
The two women were then each booked into county jail Oct. 6 for alleged possession of a controlled substance for sale, transporting or selling a controlled substance, using a false compartment and possession of an assault weapon, stated arrest records.
It was not clear whether both women had been in custody at the time of their second arrest Tuesday.
