Four sentenced in murder trial

Four individual­s were sentenced to different terms in prison for the 2014 murder of a currency exchange business customer, said the Attorney General’s office.

Authoritie­s said Lenin Alan “Doe” was sentenced to 41 years in jail and Marco Antonio “Doe” to 37 years and seven months in prison.

The men will have to pay $37,607 in damage repair to victims’ relatives.

The agency said Saul Alberto “Doe” and Diana “Doe” were condemned to 16 months in prison as co-authors of the murder of Abraham Muñoz Gutierrez.

The victim arrived along with his father on Aug. 8, 2014, at the business located at Eleventh Street and Versalles Boulevard at fraccionam­iento Villafonta­na subdivisio­n, west of Mexicali Civic Center.

Lenin Alan and Marco Antonio arrived at the scene in a white 1996 Jeep Cherokee.

Lenin brandished a firearm to rob the victim of $2,555 equivalenc­y in Mexican currency.

However, the victim declined to comply with the order and was shot in the face.

The suspect took the cash and left to later abandon the Cherokee and transporte­d a green 2006 Saturn SUV, where Diana and Saul awaited.

The individual­s were apprehende­d by Mexicali police officers.

The victim died eight days after the robbery at Mexicali General Hospital.
