National Adoption Weekend
Friday through Sunday marks 2017’s last quarterly National Adoption Weekend for this year with our local Petsmart location! Each year, Petsmart gives shelters and rescues all over the United States four chances to find loving furever homes for as many orphaned fur-kids as humanly possible.
Being that we have literally hundreds of orphaned cats and dogs in our care at the Humane Society of Imperial County, we intend to take full advantage of this super-awesome adoption event. In order for us to be able to help easily place more cats and dogs into loving homes, we have decided to slightly lower our adoption fees for the adoption event: dog and puppy adoptions will only be $100 and all cat and kitten adoptions will only be $25. Cats and kittens can be adopted at two kitties for the price of one (all regardless of age).
Although our adoption fees will be lowered, our standard adoption policies and procedures will still be in place. All adoptions through Petsmart include: the pets being up-todate on vaccinations, they are spayed and neutered, microchipped, given one free bag of dog or cat food, given a coupon booklet with more than $475 in Petsmart purchase savings, is entitled to 50 percent off his or her first in-store grooming, and the pet is entitled to one free check-up with a local veterinarian. All that is literally the definition of the word “bargain.” You cannot find this deal anywhere else.
For this adoption event, we intend to have more cats and dogs available at Petsmart than we ever have before. The best part about this particular adoption event would be that on Saturday we will be outside in the parking lot of Petsmart to accommodate all of the doggies that we will have there (the kitties will be inside where it is calmer and quieter). Because this adoption event will be on a slightly larger scale, we are looking for volunteers to help us on the day of the event. Volunteering that day will consist of loading and unloading, putting adoption pens together, walking dogs and cleaning up after the pets.
