The 2017 Imperial Valley League girls’ golf season came to a close last month with a couple of champions being crowned in the team and individual categories.

Claiming the team title once again was the squad from Imperial High.

This was the Tigers’ third consecutive title in as many years of fielding a full team.

Pacing the Tigers in the IVL win this year were Raegan Preece, Morgan Preece and Demi Preece.

The sisters finished in the top five golfers in nearly every IVL meet this year and for their efforts earned All-IVL First Team honors.

This is Raegan and Morgan’s third year making the list and Demi’s first as this was her freshman season on the team.

Imperial finished with a total of 49 league points, followed by Holtville and Southwest highs who tied for second with 37 league points.

For the Vikings and the Eagles, Rachel Chambers and Kayla Howard earned FirstTeam honors as well.

Rounding out the First-Team list was Vincent Memorial newcomer Jimenna Ramirez.

This was Ramirez’s first year suiting up for the Scots and had a stellar campaign using the final two meets of the year to secure the 2017 Player of the Year honor.

Ramirez, Raegan and Morgan traded the top spot throughout the entire season until Ramirez shot par in the final two meets of the year to move up in the individual rankings and sure the individual crown this year.
