Emergency drills test agencies’ response
In order to be best-prepared as can be, for any potential dangers, the city of Calexico, its police department and other local, state and federal agencies took part in the annual California Statewide Medical and Health Exercise here a week ago.
The exercise was a multi-site coordinated emergency drill scenario designed to test the participating agencies communicati\ons and effectiveness when responding to a critical emergency situation.
Kudos for continuously preparing for various scenarios.
Growing buzz draws crowds to Honey Festival
While it’s the slowest time of the year for beekeepers to produce honey, the annual Honey Festival saw no trouble in drawing in crowds of attendees like bees to a blossom.
The festival continued to give the small city here an opportunity to showcase what it’s truly made of — a welcoming community and a lot of honey.
It was the festival’s 13th year in existence on Saturday and those in attendance were able to celebrate and enjoy what the growing event has to offer.
